KENEDY – Annaleise Blaschke, 96, of Kenedy, died Thursday, March 6, 2003. She was born Dec. 6, 1906, in DeWitt County, to the late Anton and Anna Morisse Meinen. She was a homemaker and a member of Elim Lutheran Church.

Survivors: daughters, Ardenella Fenner of Kenedy, La Anna Johnson of Austin and Willowdeen Creek of Mesquite; nine grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: husband, Ernst F. Blaschke; son, Arland Blaschke; parents; one sister; and two brothers.

He served in the Navy and was a member of the PNA Lodge No. 3128.

KARNES CITY – Hortencia Lerma, 76, of Karnes City, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003. She was born Oct. 9, 1926, in Kenedy, to the late Guadalupe and Concepcion Gutierrez DeLeon. She was a nurse’s aide for Green’s Nursing Home and Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City.

Survivors: daughters, Esther Cruz, Dolores Esparza and Barbara Morin, all of Karnes City, Diana Cruz of Kenedy and Cynthia Stewart of Douglas, Wyo.; sons, Ramond Lerma Jr. of Kenedy, David Lerma and Danny Lerma, both of San Antonio and Johnny Lerma of Karnes City; sister, Charlene DeLeon of Victoria; brothers, Johnny DeLeon and Bernard DeLeon, both of San Antonio and Cruz Alaniz of Premont; 19 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
