Lookups

Everyone on this list is a volunteer. Please be courteous to them as they give up of their own free time to help out those in genealogical need.

Do you have a resource that has information about Karnes County?  Do you live in Karnes County and would you be willing to look up information for other genealogists who live far away? If so, then why not volunteer? E-mail me and let me know how you could help.  Thanks!

I do not live in Karnes County. Please use the below resources for your lookup needs as I cannot help with lookups. Thanks!

My name is Jay Odom. I am able to do Texas Death Certificate lookups and copies.
It costs $7 per certificate, but alot cheaper than trying to get them from the
State Health Dept. and I can get them out within a week or so.

Tracie Simon is willing to do lookups in the following books:

  • “Karnes County Cemetery Inscriptions: Name in Stone” by the El Cibolo chapter of the NSDAR
  • Karnes County, Texas Marriage Records 1867-1894
  • “A History of Karnes County and Old Helena” by Hedwig Krell Didear
  • “The Trail Drivers of Texas” by J. Marvin Price
(Many references to Karnes County men and early cowboys experiences on the range
    and the cattle trail.)

Census

Barbara Payne is willing to do lookups on the 1880 Texas Census.
