OLIVER, Susan Mayer

Susan Mayer Oliver, 54, of San Antonio, died Sunday, June 11, 2017.

Mrs. Oliver was born  May 28, 1963, in San Antonio to Allen and Eleanor (Banduch) Mayer. She graduated from St. Gerard High School in 1981 and then attended Southwest Texas State University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1985. She worked at United Energy Resources in Houston for a year before moving back to San Antonio to join USAA, where she worked for more than 30 years as a marketing analyst. She  was an active member at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling, reading and being outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Shelby Joseph Mayer.

Survivors include her husband, David Oliver; her parents, Allen and Eleanor Mayer; her two daughters, Laura (Lucas) Miller and Rebecca Oliver; sisters, Sharon (Ed) Berger and Sandra Mayer; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Thursday, June 15, at Vaughan’s Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary there at 7 p.m.

The funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, June 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with a reception that followed  at Scenic Loop Café.

Memorial donations may be made to GoFundMe.com/SusanMayerOliver, where all contributions will be given to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism in Mrs. Oliver’s name.

Arrangements were under the direction of Vaughan’s Funeral Home, Boerne.
