Lazara M. Avelar, Age 90, of San Antonio, TX formerly of Kenedy, TX passed away on February 12, 2011 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on December 17, 1920 to the late Juan and Manuela(Ranguel) Martinez in Burnell, TX. She was a retired laundry clerk at John Paul II Nursing Home in Kenedy and a former member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Kenedy, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Tomasa Martinez, and Tita Garza; brothers; Pablo Martinez, Faustino Martinez, Locario Martinez, Cristoval Martinez, and Ascencion Martinez. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be recited on Tues. Feb. 15, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be held Wed. Feb 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Kenedy, TX. Interment will follow at the Burnell Cemetery in Burnell , TX.
