Henry M. Guerra, 93, of Kenedy, died Friday, March 24, 2017, in San Antonio.
Mr. Guerra was born to Cesario P. and Sabina C. Guerra. He was a highly decorated World War II veteran, serving in the 38th Infantry Regiment, Company L. His company landed on Omaha Beach, Normany and D-Day 1944. He was also in combat at the Battle of the Bulge and then was honorably discharged from the Army. He continued his military service in the Air Force Reserves. He received several medals for his military service including the Bronze Star with three Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart to name a few.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cesario P. and Sabina C. Guerra; brothers, Edmundo and Efrian, Eliaszar; and sisters, Esther Gonzales and Elsa Albiar.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at Fort Sam National Cemetery in San Antonio, on Monday, April 3, at 9:45 a.m.
Arrangements were under the direction of Puente and Sons Funeral Home, San Antonio.
